meetings start at 7pm. You work 3rd shift. you wont be able to make it. I'm glad I can find a club with bee meeting at 7pm Monday night. day off from work. I have to drive 67 miles lol. working 3rd shift is the best shift to work if you can get use to it. I'm a Railroad man for 38 years. I have worked 3rd shift for 35 years now. if I had to work a day job with weekends off. I would quit. hang in there. you have a job.

If us NewBees are the busiest checking out this site, I guess we'd better share our knowledge.

The Bee Meeting is the first Monday evening of each month (minus a couple of busy months), and is always marked on the Events page of this web site.

It is a great forum for sharing information & asking questions. I think I see 40 to 70 people at the ones I've been to, and there are always specific informational topics on the agenda besides the unofficial sharing of information.

Sam Hall sends e-mails to anyone who signs up to be on the list, and says, "At the September meeting Don McNelly will be giving a demonstration on mead making. Don has been making mead the better part of 60 years. In addition to making mead Don is a life long runner of marathons. He is the subject of a book that came out in April of 2010 entitled “The Madman, the Marathoner: The Life of Marathoner Donald P. McNelly” by Juanita Tischendorf ."

I plan to be at the next meeting. if we get bad weather I wont be coming. I'm due for a big storm down here. Avon is not out of my way. I can meet you at one of those restaurants on 5and20. I think its to early to worry about our bees now. if you didn't take to much honey from your bees. you should be ok. I like 100lb stores. our mild winter is going to be a big problem for all of us around late February early march. our honey stores will be gone. I know this winter is not going to leave us early. I figure we will have to sweet it out into April before we can get serious with our bees again. once I see my bluebirds and tree swallows come back to get their nest boxes I know its spring. I plan to open my hives up in February if I can get a day around 55. I have fondant made up for them now. if you are worried lift up your hive. if it feels heavy you still have honey. if it don't feel right. put on a piece of fondant or a solid sugar block. don't open your hive if its not in the 50s I'm sure Sam Hall will be talking about it soon at the meeting.
